Lovely menu for Friday, July 29!

Hello and happy Tuesday!

I have to tell you, I have never stuffed so many tomatoes in all my life as I did last night and this morning! This afternoon, I was able to get some more of those stunning Cherokee Purples like we had in the gazpacho last Tuesday. So the first several orders of dirty rice for Friday will be in these beautiful and richly flavored heirloom tomatoes!

Also, a note about the dragon fruit salad: the shell of the dragon fruit is a purely decorative garnish. Enjoy the colorful fruits, nuts, and veggies - but I don't recommend actually eating the pink shell of the dragon fruit.

And now here it is! The menu for Friday, July 29! Please order by Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Thank you so much! I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Much love,
Chef Mary

antioxidants! $11

Dirty Rice: Brown basmati rice cooked with fresh veggie broth, colorful peppers, and homemade rice-oat crumbles. Stuffed into Ripe Tomatoes! $10

Potato Pancakes with Vegan Tzatziki Sauce! Tzatziki is a Greek sauce, made with cucumbers, garlic, herbs, and traditionally, with dairy yogurt. Ours gets its creaminess from cultured cashew creme instead! $10

BAKERY:

Chocomole! The most amazing raw vegan chocolate mousse around. With a dollop of Agave Vanilla Cashew Creme. $8

Zucchini Walnut Muffins! The zucchini are a beautiful heirloom variety this week! Yum! $9 half dozen, $16 dozen

Today's batch of gazpacho will be quite a different color from the last one. Why? The tomatoes are different! Instead of mostly Cherokee Purples, today we have mostly these big yellow and red ones. I forgot to ask what they were called. Maybe they're Germans?

And check out how purple those peppers are! They're in both the gazpacho and the Thai forbidden rice salad.

I did learn what the skinny, mildly spicy peppers are called. They're Hungarian Wax Peppers.

Yum! Enjoy looking today, and EATING tomorrow!

Love, Mary

Heirloom Tomatoes!

Yesterday, I picked up some lovely veggies (well, technically they're all savory fruits) at the farmers' market! Folks, I am not the greatest photographer, and I don't have the best lighting. But I just wanted to show you how gorgeous these lovely ingredients are!

I got some bell peppers and some mildly spicy peppers (I think they're banana peppers, but I have to double check,) as well as cucumbers and tomatoes! The tomatoes are an heirloom variety called Cherokee Purple.

Some of the cukes and tomatoes are destined for the Greek Quinoa Salad. Some of the peppers will be in the Thai Forbidden Rice Salad. Most of everything else will be in the Gazpacho! (But some will end up right in my tummy.)

YUM!
